When I first started this blog, I wrote a long post about what I want to achieve with my life in the near future, and on that list was to find and embrace my personal style.
You can find that post here but sum it up, I LOVE fashion. I love everything about it.
I follow literally thousands of fashion designers, bloggers, stylists and just downright beautiful people on social media, I read (and keep) god knows how many magazines and books and I know how I want to look but here I am, months on having made no progress, and embarrassingly sitting in scarily similar 'outfit' if you can call it that to what I was the first time I shared my goal.
I now have a bit more free time so in the run-up to Christmas, I plan on really focussing on improving my style so I can start the new year with a bang.
To help me do this I have been reading article after article, and I am using this post as a way to consolidate the initial steps I think I need to take to make a real improvement in my personal style
Be Inspired
I said above that I know what I want to look like but I need to put this down on paper (or more likely on Pinterest) so I will creating a virtual mood board (and blog post) to consolidate all my favourite looks, people and sources of inspiration in one place.

Find my colour palette
I don't wear colour and I think it's because I don't understand it rather than not liking it. I'm going to spend some time understanding colour theory so I can mix my wardrobe up (probably with accessories to start with) and also apply it to my much loved but sorely underused makeup collection.
Audit my wardrobe (and accessories)
This step scares me but its the one I most need to do. I hate shopping for clothes as I don't understand how to dress for my shape (that's another step I really should be taking) so my wardrobe is full of items that are old, don't fit, out of date etc etc etc. The list really could go on.
I need to have a critical clean out of my wardrobe (and the various other places I have ill-fitting clothes, to come up with a list of pieces need to buy and to also have easy access to the pieces I do love and wish I wore more.

I think changing my style is going to be a real journey, with plenty of speed bumps I'm sure, but hopefully, if I can share it with you I shall stick to it.
What are your sources of fashion inspiration?
