Etsy Holiday Gift Guide #3 My wish list

Over the last 2 weeks I have been sharing my favourite Etsy Christmas picks and so far I have posted about Christmas cards and stocking fillers and today's post is about the pieces that have made it to my Christmas list.

My christmas list

I have been learning to crochet for a few months but I just cannot get into the swing of it and I am desperate for a crochet blanket for this winter.

Jillian Holtzmann is my new girl crush - she inspires everyone to embrace their weirdness !!I think  Capybara are very cute and these cushions would just make me smile every time I saw them on my sofa.

The wall hooks and faux taxidermy are small parts of a huge wall display I want to make out of my jewellery and accessories. I also have purchased from both sellers in the past so can attest to the fab value and quality.

This jewellery set from Atuko is just gorgeous - all of their jewellery is modern and fresh and minimalist and just what I need to add to my collection for those days I'm feeling a bit more understated.

You can never have too many pins or Llamas in your accessory collection.

I can never keep my nails looking nice so a fab set of falsies, especially ones as amazing as these, would be very well used and loved.

Continuing the marble theme, these earrings are just beautiful and look so much more than the very affordable price tag.

Embroidery is everywhere at the moment and this clutch is gorgeous and classic and understated and all those other adjectives that describe beautiful accessories.

Christmas isn't Christmas if copious amounts of chocolate are consumed and what better way to do that than with a whole selection of flavoured white chocolate goodies (you can't beat white choc).

I have chosen these earrings from Martha Rotten to feature but in reality, any single item from that shop could have made it to my wish list - everything appeals to the darker side of my aesthetic.

If you couldn't already tell, my taste in jewellery is very eclectic and I like to own something to suit every mood and occasion and at the moment I have a hankering for bamboo bracelets to stack with bakelite bangles.

As well as being practical, this makeup bag just makes me grin. I love Harry Potter and everything associated with it and the older I get the more enjoyment I get out of people's surprise at this fact.

So there is my Christmas list, do let me know what's on yours and feel free to leave links to your blog posts.

Finally, if you are interested in seeing someone else's idea of the ideal Christmas present check out the Etsy Editors' Pick's page.

Etsy : The perfect place for a unique Advent Calendar

Over the past few years, I have shared with you my favourite unique Christmas cards, stocking fillers and tree decorations, all available from Etsy This year I want to share my favourite advent calendars. Maybe like me, your children are growing up and so they will appreciate a unique advent calendar for the treat it is, or maybe you would like the joy your family members get from opening their gifts to extend beyond the one day, or perhaps (also like me)  you just want to treat yourself a little bit. The possibilities with Etsy really are endless, and there are many more options than those that I am sharing, so I would highly encourage everyone to grab a cup of their favourite hot beverage and spend a fun 30 minutes persuing these sellers, and many more besides that. For the foodies, I have a list of food-based calendars  that contain items such as pork scratching and cheddar cheese, alongside those containing the more traditional chocolate options.  Cheesies Advent Ca...

Inspired by // Miles Donovan Solar System (2) C/2011

Now that we are post Christmas I am starting to think about the fashion and beauty trends for S/S 2017 and have spent many hours browsing Vogue for catwalk pictures from designers big and small. I was then separately browsing Pinterest  (as you can do for hours on end) for collage artists (my new obsession) and stumbled upon this picture which I later found out was by Miles Donovan. (c) Miles Donovan  (02/12/2011 20.20 UTC) Solar System (2) C/2011  Upon seeing this picture a light bulb went off in my head - the colour palette was nearly identical to that used by Nino Banukhadia in their Spring/Summer 2017 RTW collection. The varying shades of grey will cool yellows and khakis are beautifully offset by the warm reds used around the eyes. This is a colour palette I could incorporate into my wardrobe and makeup this season quite comfortably as it is not too far of a departure from the dark greys (and blacks) that I wear on a daily basis. Spring Summer 2017 Beauty trends

As I mentioned the other day in my Miles Donovan post now Christmas is behind us I am starting to think about my wardrobe (clothing and beauty) for Spring/Summer. As I am keener to experiment with my makeup than my clothing (office day job and strong reliance on black clothes that cover my belly) I paid most attention to the makeup looks and have I picked a few (more) of those that I would like to try to share with you. Do you change your look each season or do you have a go-to look you stick with? What is your favourite spring/summer product? Tessa
