Found Poetry - Sharpened with plenty of vinegar

Sharpened with plenty of vinegar

One fat dumpy lady
Grossly intimate
most definitely not puritan
Awkward
Guilt
A failed chapter

The phrases for this poem came from  Christie Malry's Own Double-Entry by B S Johnson. A birthday present from my husband in 2018 that has to be one of my favourite books ever despite me needing to read it with a dictionary beside me. Perhaps it spoke to me only because of my day job but nonetheless speak to me it did and the language inspired a series of found poems.

This is the first and my favourite as it is a self-portrait in poetry form.

Products I have shared lately

I have been making more of an effort to share on social media but with that, the blog has fallen away. I am going to try and find some sort of middle ground so I thought I would start with things I have been talking about elsewhere on social media lately. To start with we have my new favourite book (albeit that it is for children). Mary and Frankenstein - Both the story and the illustrations and enthralling    And this is another gorgeous children's book that I got for the illustrations, though more specifically the colour palette. I think the pop of neon with neutral colours is something I want to experiment with.   what is your favorite illustrated children's book? Finally - my product of choice at the moment is Turner gouache though I am going to treat myself to some of these Shin Han hybrid paints this month to try them out I have set up an Amazon store with some of my favorites so it is easy for you to find everything I love in one place.   h...

Etsy Valentines Cards

I have never really 'done' Valentines day but each year I do swap cards with my husband and each year we try to out do each other with the cutest but most appropriate card. As always I always look to Etsy for cards as there is nowhere you are more likely to find the most fitting card - and if you can't find exactly what you want there will be someone who can make it for you. Over the last few weeks I have been 'favouriting' cards as I see them - some for my husband and some that I would love for me.  As always, I want to share the Etsy love as I cannot recommend the site enough or all the sellers I have had the please to deal with in the past. Mortica, kelly and Sandy from The Gin Fox  // Love is from Gin Bunny Prints  //  I love you to the moon and back from  StudioBoketto  // Lets grow old together from Too Wordy  //  Stranger Things card from  whatafabday  // My Won Won and Will you be my death eater from  T...
